The Magicians by Lev Grossman
Thus far, this is a pretty good book, though at times it’s a bit like if Harry Potter were a drunk sot with self-esteem issues and self-destructive tendencies. The part where they’re at Breakbill’s is pretty great. I loved it in fact. Afterwards, it starts to spiral, but I’m hoping it will get better by the end. It’s certainly a unique novel. There are many references to a fictional world called Fillory, which is obviously a play on Narnia- not particularly subtle.
