Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and it’s all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Received for Review:
Children of the Fleet by Orson Scott Card
This was a surprise arrival from Tor- I hadn’t even heard this existed! I’ve only ever read Ender’s Game, so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to pick up the storyline but hey, I’ll give it a shot sometime. It also came with an awesome Fleet School patch which I’ll add to my collection.
When a book is described as gangster fantasy, I’m all ears. This will be one of my next reads because I can’t wait much longer to dig in and see what it’s all about! Thanks to Orbit for the finished copy.
Black Star Renegades by Michael Moreci
Black Star Renegades was another surprise arrival that I hadn’t heard of prior to it showing up on my doorstep. It apparently contains super weapons and evil space kingdoms, so that’s cool. Thanks to St. Martin’s for sending me a copy.
An Import of Intrigue by Marshall Ryan Maresca
Somehow I didn’t pick this one up as soon as it came out, so I had a bit of catching up to do before reading this next book…
The Imposters of Aventil by Marshall Ryan Maresca
This is the first of MRM’s books that have a character cross-over and BOY WAS IT GREAT. It’s also the reason why I had to catch up and read An Import of Intrigue first. Thanks to Orbit for providing copies of both books.
Steal the Stars by Nat Cassidy
Yet another surprise arrival, this time about aliens! The few early reviews out there seem very positive. Thanks to Tor for sending a copy.
Books Purchased:
The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski
I’ve been curious about the Witcher books for months now and took initiative to actually begin the series. The audio version of this was quite good.
We Are Legion (We Are Bob) by Dennis E. Taylor
Another book that I’d been putting off despite having seen nothing but good reviews. I loved it and hope to catch up on all my reviews soon-ish.
The Dread Wyrm by Miles Cameron
First time trying audio format for this series – excellent narration. I may actually continue the rest of the series in audio in the name of expedience! Otherwise I fear I shall never have time to read the next books.
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco
Another audiobook purchase, though I have mixed opinions about it. Beautiful cover, intriguing storyline, but not as appealing as I hoped.
This is actually my current read and I’m loving it. The audiobook is fabulously entertaining and I can’t put it down!
Evil is a Matter of Perspective by Adrian Collins et. al
Literally just purchased this right before working on this post. Got some of those random Amazon credits for an ebook settlement of some sort and this was like $0.99, plus it’s chock full of stories by great authors.
Black Star Renegades looks pretty cool. Think you’ll be reviewing it any time soon, ie, before New Years?

Nice haul! I just finished Children of the Fleet and I hope I’ll be able to read Jade City and Steal the Stars soon. And We Are Legion (We Are Bob) is soooo fun! I’m surprise not more people are getting on board with that series, it’s already been a runaway hit with sci-fi and audiobook listeners.

The Bobiverse deserves more appreciation! I feel kind of bad for brushing it off as a fluke for so long, but totally on board now.
