Spice Road by Maiya Ibrahim
I’ve already begun reading this and so far, I like it! I crave warm settings this time of year and a secret desert city filled with magic is the perfect escape from January temps. I’m hoping to have quick turnaround time on reading and reviewing this book, so a review may be up as soon as this Thursday!
I’m still making my way through Hell Bent, which I’m surprised to find was really easy to get back into despite it being 2 years since I read the first book. I recently watched The Pale Blue Eye on Netflix, which is a murder mystery where a grouchy old Christian Bale pairs up with a young Edgar Allan Poe to solve the deaths of West Point cadets. It was honestly just okay – not bad, not great – though the ending was pretty good!
