Waiting on Wednesday: The First Binding by R.R. Virdi

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming releases you’re excited about!

I’m not gonna lie, the synopsis for The First Binding gives me serious The Name of the Wind vibes and that’s precisely why I added it to my TBR. It’s also one heck of a tome, coming in at 864 pages, so I’m expecting more than enough worldbuilding and adventure! This is expected to release August 16, 2022.

Waiting on Wednesday: Ordinary Monsters by J.M. Miro

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming releases you’re excited about!

Set in 1882 London, Ordinary Monsters is the story of magical children who are being hunted by a man made of smoke. That’s really all I needed to know, but then it goes on to say how the prose is lush and it has excellent worldbuilding. While I will be the judge of that once I’ve read it, I am pretty compelled to pick this up ASAP! This will be released June 7, 2022.

Waiting on Wednesday: Book of Night by Holly Black

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming releases you’re excited about!

I’m sure Book of Night will be featuring on so many people’s Waiting on Wednesday/Can’t Wait Wednesday posts this week since the cover was finally revealed! It is lovely and simplistic in style and fits the theme of shadow magic promised by the synopsis. I can’t wait to check out Holly Black’s adult fantasy debut when it’s released May 3, 2022!

Waiting on Wednesday: All the Seas of the World by Guy Gavriel Kay

A new story from Guy Gavriel Kay is always cause for excitement, though I’m extra looking forward to this because All the Seas of the World is set in the same world as A Brightness Long Ago and Children of Earth and Sky. The cover is fairly stunning as well – the gorgeous night sky and shades of blue and green are all so appealing. This is due to be released May 17, 2022!

Waiting on Wednesday: In the Shadow of Lightning by Brian McClellan

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming releases you’re excited about!

In the Shadow of Lightning is the start of a brand new fantasy series from Brian McClellan. That alone is enough to get my hyped, simply because I found the Powder Mage world to be so wildly awesome. The synopsis is promising and well, I’m quite excited for this which is why it’s getting featured!

Waiting on Wednesday: The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah

Everything about The Stardust Thief sounds fabulous! Ancient lamps, jinn queens, and a journey with the sultan’s son. I’m stoked and hoping for a little smidgen of romance on top of all the exciting sounding action. This will be out May 17, 2022!

Waiting on Wednesday: Half Baked Harvest Everyday by Tieghan Gerard

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming releases you’re excited about!

This week’s feature is completely unlike what I usually feature, but I am QUITE looking forward to this! I love cooking and the recipes I’ve tried from the Half Baked Harvest blog have all been pretty tasty (and pretty to look at!). Apparently this book features a bunch of new recipes that haven’t been featured on the HBH blog and I’m looking forward to checking them out. This will be released February 2022 and I’ve already pre-ordered my copy!

Waiting on Wednesday: The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming releases you’re excited about!

The Cartographers sounds like the perfect blend of historical fiction, mystery, and possibly SFF! I mean, how could you not be intrigued by a map that is rare and important enough to murder someone over? The synopsis is quite vague beyond this initial hook, but it was enough for me to add it to my 2022 TBR. This will be released March 15, 2022!

Waiting on Wednesday: The Bloody Throne by S.C. Emmett

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming releases you’re excited about!

The Bloody Throne is one of my most anticipated releases of 2022 and it happen to be the conclusion to one my favorite fantasy series! It’s the perfect blend of political intrigue and romance and well, I just love the characters. I can’t wait to see how things will wrap up and I have my fingers crossed for at least a somewhat happy ending for Komor Yala! This will be released March 29, 2022.

Waiting on Wednesday: The Justice of Kings by Richard Swan

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming releases you’re excited about!

I love fantasy murder mysteries and that’s exactly what The Justice of Kings is! This is the story of the Emperor’s Justice and his protégé as they track down the murderer of a noble and end up uncovering a conspiracy. This will be released February 22, 2022 and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
